On entering the property at the side through the barn doors, there is a room containing the 3/4 size pool table. Through a door is the utility room with central heating boiler and washing machine. Wooden steps take you up to the kitchen area, recently upgraded with new work surfaces, fan oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave. Walking in to the kitchen you are presented with a very spacious room of 70 sq.metres with dining area and sitting room area. The south facing French windows and windows to the west allow lots of light. The walls are revealed stone, the impressive oak beams all exposed and the floor is chestnut wood. There is a corner stone fireplace with wood burner. The alcove bookshelves have been made from one of the original barn windows. Through the French windows there is a huge balcony overlooking the swimming pool. This easily seats 10 people and effectively makes an outdoor room for al fresco dining and watching the very beautiful Charentais sunsets. From the balcony a wooden staircase takes you down to the terrace below. Further steps then go down to the car park.
At the rear of the sitting room are the stairs. There is a balustrade made out of the original solid oak cow biers with four steps up to a landing, with a low beam, and three twin bedrooms and separate bathroom with bath and shower. The bedrooms have revealed stone walls, Velux style roof lights and are carpeted.
The bespoke curved staircase takes you downstairs to the two large double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The original openings for the barn doors have been left revealed with their old beams and also one of the original barn windows. The original stones have been used as a feature in the partition walls. Where possible the original beams in the ceilings have been used and the revealed stone has been left apparent. Both rooms are carpeted. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room and the other an en-suite bath and shower room. These are large rooms with French windows opening on to the terrace which benefits from the shade of the balcony above and which is enclosed by honeysuckle and passion flower covering the ironwork fencing.
Facing South, at the right hand end of the terrace, steps lead you down to the swimming pool. This is entirely enclosed by both walls and fencing with a child proof safety gate at one end and a lockable iron gate at the other giving access to the car park and pool hut. The 10m x 4.5m pool is heated by solar panels and has a shallow end with Roman steps and a diving end. Wooden decking surrounds the area with a small raised decked part and a small mature garden with flowering shrubs.
